The Human Project · U.S. Summit is a curated, invitation-only convening of institutional leaders, social investors, foundations, practitioners, and community representatives committed to long-term, community-based approaches to human development.
Rather than presenting a finished model, the Summit opens a shared space of inquiry around one central question:
What enables communities to generate their own pathways toward human development and prosperity?

Community leaders from Santa Luzia do Itanhy present the Social Technologies they built and lead — across literacy, early childhood, STEM, food security, visual health, entrepreneurship, and sound design. Glenda Eoyang (Human Systems Dynamics Institute) then connects complexity to practice and facilitates a knowledge exchange.

Leaders from Paraguay, Malawi, Haiti, and New York share perspectives on long-term thinking, community leadership, systems coordination, trust, and embedded presence. Saulo Barretto, founder of The Human Project, moderates a closing exchange.

The Human Project promotes human development and prosperity in vulnerable communities through community capacity-building and financially sustainable solutions. Developed since 2010 in Santa Luzia do Itanhy — one of Brazil's poorest municipalities — it helped transform the community into a leading Brazilian hub for Social Technologies.
Its lessons and solutions are now ready to be shared and adapted by initiatives worldwide.
